Job summary

HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) in Toronto seeks a Manager, Business Process to design, implement and improve accounting processes and technology supporting HOOPP’s capital market investments. Lead initiatives across Finance, IT, Risk and Legal, ensuring accurate reporting of ASPE and IFRS for investment instruments.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business or related discipline required.
• CPA designation required or pursued with experience in accounting for pensions.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS as they relate to investments and derivatives.

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of IA&R processes.
• Document current and future-state processes and support automation initiatives.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify optimization opportunities.
• Support accounting and reporting requirements for new investment products and strategies.
• Collaborate with IT to translate business requirements into functional system solutions.
• Coordinate and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) and issue resolution.
