Notice of Employment OpportunityJune 9, 2025Manager Information Technology (IT)The Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for a progressive, dedicated, customer focused professional to fill the full-time position of Manager Information Technology (IT).Job SummaryReporting directly to the Director Technology & Client Services, this position is responsible for the development of long-range plans for the Municipality with respect to its computing, electronic communications, network operating environments and cyber security management. The Manager is responsible for the supervision of IT support staff. In addition, the Manager is responsible for the maintenance and administration of all data and voice communications and all other IT infrastructure (ex. audio/video, building security systems, video surveillance, etc.). The successful candidate will apply experience in Artificial Intelligence to evaluate, implement, and manage AI-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data analysis, and decision-making processes across the organizationQualifications and RequirementsApplicants are required to have completed a university or college degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Science, Software Engineering or directly related field. The preferred candidate must have a minimum four (4) years in the delivery of managing an IT operation preferably in a unionized municipal or other government environment along with an additional two (2) years supervisory experience in a municipal and/or IT environment. Experience and certification in use of Artificial Intelligence will be considered an asset. Candidates with related professional designation and current membership in applicable professional association or equivalent is considered an asset. The successful candidate will have demonstrated substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, outsourced systems, network design, artificial intelligence, cloud computing frameworks, security and management and other specific technology elements.Candidates will have experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management. In addition, the candidate will have proven leadership skills and supervisory skills to coach, team build and develop staff to achieve high levels of performance experience in design, administration, management, and configuration of network and server infrastructure within a multi-domain setting and computer security is a requirement. In-depth knowledge of desktop and server operating systems, client/server software and hardware, virtual operating environments, and network infrastructure technologies would round off the ideal candidate.
