Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a Manager for Global Compliance and AML Strategic Support to drive strategic initiatives across compliance and AML programs. The role concentrates on analytical support, planning, and executive-level materials to inform decision-making and business objectives.

You will collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to advance priorities, ensure regulatory alignment, and coordinate governance activities for the Audit & Conduct Review Committee

Qualifications

• University degree in Business is desirable.
• 3+ years of experience in strategic roles in banking/financial services.
• Experience supporting senior management is an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Expert-level Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong presentation design and ability to distill complex concepts.
• Thrives in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in Spanish is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a trusted partner in developing executive materials, analyses, and presentations for senior leadership decision-making and governance.
• Partners with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives and monitor priorities.
• Coordinates materials for Audit & Conduct Review Committee (ACRC) and Board meetings, including content consolidation and submission.
• Supports governance and decision-support activities through synthesis of complex information and insights for leadership discussions.
• Supports enterprise talent programs and leadership events, aiding workforce planning and development.
• Plans and executes large-scale employee engagement initiatives and leadership events to strengthen culture.
• Develops strategic briefing materials and meeting plans for executive travel and engagements.
• Incorporates the Bank's risk appetite and culture into daily activities and decisions.
• Promotes high-performance and inclusive work environment.

The Manager, Global Compliance & AML Strategic Support contributes to the successful execution of Global Compliance & AML strategic initiatives. The role provides analytical, planning, and execution support across key priorities, delivering insights and executive-level materials that support informed decision-making and business objectives. The incumbent works closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to advance strategic priorities while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Serves as a trusted partner in the development of executive-level materials, analyses, and presentations that support senior leadership decision-making, governance oversight, and strategic priorities.
• Partners with the Global Compliance & AML Leadership Team and cross-functional stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives, drive organizational alignment, monitor key priorities, and support execution against business objectives.
• Coordinates Compliance & AML materials for the Audit & Conduct Review Committee (ACRC) and Board meetings, including content consolidation, executive review coordination, stakeholder engagement, and final submission to Corporate Secretary partners.
• Supports governance and decision-support activities through the synthesis of complex information, identification of emerging themes, tracking of strategic priorities, and development of insights for senior management discussions.
• Partners with HR and business leaders to coordinate Compliance & AML participation in enterprise talent programs (e.g., Activate, Velocity), supporting workforce planning, leadership development, succession planning, and employee growth opportunities.
• Supports the planning and execution of large-scale employee engagement initiatives and leadership events that strengthen organizational culture, connectivity, and employee experience.
• Supports senior management stakeholder engagement activities through the development of strategic briefing materials, research, and meeting plans for executive business travel and leadership engagements.
• Comprehends and integrates the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture into daily activities and decision-making processes.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
