Job summary

Scotiabank seeks a Manager for Global Onboarding Experience within Global HR Operations. You will lead onboarding initiatives, coordinate with stakeholders across countries, and drive continuous improvements to the new hire experience.

You will coach a team of 8-12 direct reports, manage escalations, and ensure alignment with policies and risk controls while optimizing performance and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Human Resources or Business or pursuing related field.
  • Experience resolving customer service requests.
  • Experience leading a team with direct reports.
  • Knowledge of employee data administration and end-to-end processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Experience in Reporting & Analytics and Power BI is an asset.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in conflict/issue resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Champions a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Conducts process assessments, identifies improvement opportunities, and recommends solutions to business challenges.
  • Supports Tier 2 escalations surrounding complex employee inquiries pertaining to recruiting & onboarding, resolves escalated inquiries and provides coverage for overflow work when required.
  • Oversees Global Onboarding initiatives, ensuring new hires are seamlessly integrated into the organization.
  • Participates in project delivery, coordinating with stakeholders to meet timelines and objectives.
  • Cultivates and strengthens relationships with business units across countries served, tailoring onboarding accordingly.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of onboarding practices to enhance the new hire experience and operational efficiency.
  • Uses coaching/feedback sessions and trackers to improve team performance.
  • Assists in reporting metrics and KPIs for the team and management.
  • Identifies internal growth opportunities and develops succession plans for critical roles.

The Manager contributes to the overall success of the Global Onboarding Experience team within Global HR Operations ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Champions a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Works with the Senior Manager, Director and GHRO Leaders to conduct process assessments, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions to business challenges.
  • Support Tier 2 escalations surrounding complex employee inquiries pertaining to recruiting & onboarding, resolve escalated inquiries and provide coverage for overflow work when required.
  • Oversees Global Onboarding initiatives, ensuring that new hires are seamlessly integrated into the organization. Actively participates in project delivery, coordinating with various stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives. Cultivates and strengthens relationships with individual business units in all Countries we support, understanding their unique needs and challenges to tailor onboarding processes accordingly. This involves regular communication, feedback collection, and continuous improvement of onboarding practices to enhance the overall new hire experience and operational efficiency.
  • Enhance individual and team performance through regular coaching and feedback sessions, utilizing performance and development trackers, Intraday 2.0, etc. Conduct individual touch bases with each direct report to review and provide detailed coaching and feedback on performance KPIs, performance goals, development goals, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting active participation and contributing to team development and engagement programs.
  • Provide support to the team and senior management with timely and reliable execution of activities related to reporting metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Identify and promote internal growth opportunities and develop a succession plan for critical roles within the team.
  • Assess the quality of execution of the Global HR Operations, based on the established QA/Audit processes to drive performance.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Human Resources or Business or pursuing an education in a related field.
  • Relevant experience in resolving customer service requests.
  • Experience leading a team with direct reports.
