Job summary

CPKC in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is seeking a Manager, Freight Claims & Damage Prevention to lead a critical function across North America's single-line rail network. You will drive fair liability decisions, resolve claims, and optimize loss prevention while working with customers, operations, and leadership.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years in freight claims or risk management, with strong leadership, negotiation, and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Risk Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in freight claims, transportation liability, risk management, or logistics.
• Experience negotiating settlements and leading teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Freight Claim Center, overseeing all claims across the Canadian and U.S. network.
• Manage end-to-end investigation, assessment, and resolution of freight claims.
• Negotiate settlements with customers and third parties while maintaining relationships.
• Provide leadership and development for a team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and process optimization.
