The Manager, Fraud Strategy will play a crucial role in supporting the fraud risk function within the organization. This position is responsible for assessing fraud risks, implementing controls and monitoring solutions, and developing data-driven recommendations to solve business problems. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert (SME) in fraud, technically proficient, and a strong leader with excellent communication and presentation skills. The Manager will oversee a team of three Business Analysts and drive performance, growth, and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Assess fraud risks across AML, Transactional Fraud, and ID Fraud.
Lead and mentor a team of three Business Analysts (2 intermediate, 1 senior).
Monitor team performance, provide guidance, and foster professional development.
Develop and implement risk controls and monitoring frameworks.
Build dashboards and fraud monitoring queues to enhance fraud detection.
Utilize advanced SQL for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
Apply basic Python knowledge for data manipulation and automation.
Develop business cases and provide data-driven recommendations for fraud prevention initiatives.
Oversee vendor implementations and integrations.
Collaborate with internal teams and technology partners to prioritize fraud initiatives.
Ensure alignment of team goals with overall fraud strategy objectives.
Craft well-structured recommendations that address business challenges.
Present insights, findings, and strategic initiatives to leadership teams.
Influence decision-making through strong analytical storytelling and persuasive communication.
You start by understanding the problem, asking ‘why’, and identifying the data to determine the root cause.
You have 4+ years of experience in fraud strategy or risk management, with a strong understanding of financial crime risks including AML, transactional fraud, and identity fraud.
You have at least 2 years of experience leading and mentoring a team, and you thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
You’re proficient in advanced SQL and use it confidently for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
You’re comfortable working with Python for basic data manipulation and automation (or eager to grow these skills).
You think analytically, enjoy solving complex problems, and use data to drive decisions.
You excel at communicating insights clearly and crafting structured recommendations that influence business outcomes.
You’re skilled in building fraud monitoring dashboards and tools, and know how to scale fraud detection processes.
You operate well in fast-paced settings with shifting priorities, always staying focused on impact.
You are comfortable in managing cross-functional, multi-stakeholder projects and communicating through presentations.
