Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager, Digital PMO to lead a team of Project Managers in driving the successful execution of Mackenzie Health’s digital initiatives. As the Manager, Digital PMO, you will ensure adherence to scope, timelines, cost controls, and risk mitigation—aligned with clinical and business objectives. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, from business case development and procurement/vendor management to planning, execution, and project closure.

Reporting to the Vice President, Digital Health & CIO, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement digital initiatives. Your role includes coordinating, prioritizing, managing, and optimizing project execution across all Digital Health portfolios, including Clinical Informatics, Infrastructure, Applications & Integrations, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Systems.

Contribute To Safe, Quality Care By

  • Providing leadership for project plans, scope, timelines, and execution, ensuring appropriate structure with flexibility.
  • Developing and adopting Project Management frameworks, methodologies, and tools suitable for digital initiatives.
  • Overseeing business case development, budgets, and proposals.
  • Managing project implementation and ensuring timely delivery supporting stakeholders.
  • Supporting project prioritization through risk management, issue resolution, and resource management.
  • Influencing cross-functional teams using interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborating with hospital staff and leadership on strategic goals related to technology and systems.
  • Building stakeholder relationships with MOHLTC, Central Region, Epic Harmony, hospitals, and partners.
  • Cultivating a high-performing, accountable, and learning team culture.
  • Managing human and financial resources of the project management team.
  • Monitoring and managing the department budget.
  • Leading delivery of innovative solutions through projects.
  • Maintaining PMO templates and tools based on industry frameworks.
  • Reviewing project artifacts, including charters, risks, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensuring project governance and adherence to standards and processes.
  • Communicating objectives and conducting performance reviews with project managers.
  • Coaching project managers in best practices.
  • Escalating risks and recommending process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, computer science, business administration, or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • ITIL certification is an asset.

Additional Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience in digital maturity implementation and healthcare environment.
  • Strong project management, workflow, problem-solving, and strategic skills.
  • Expertise in project management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Leadership ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project, and Visio.
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong systems thinking and research skills.
  • Commitment to safety, inclusivity, and organizational values.
