MNP is seeking a Manager, Consulting - Operational Excellence to lead the Operations Improvement team in Edmonton. You will guide project delivery, drive strategy, and craft actionable plans that improve client performance.

This role balances client advisory with hands-on project management in a dynamic consulting environment. You will mentor analysts and professionals, manage budgets, and work across private and public sectors to create sustainable value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or related fields.
• Certifications such as CMC, PMP, Lean or Six Sigma are assets.
• 3–5 years of business consulting experience focused on transformation and operational improvement.
• Experience in change management.
• Strong problem solving and process improvement knowledge (Lean, waste reduction).

Responsibilities

• Oversee consulting projects from proposal through delivery, focusing on strategy, operations improvement and value creation.
• Develop and implement strategic plans and business processes with clients.
• Manage project plans, resources and progress to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

As a Management Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of consulting projects, including:

• Management of consulting projects:You will lead the proposal, planning, and delivery of consulting engagements, focusing on strategy, planning services, operations improvement, and value creation in both the private and public sectors. This includes executing operations analysis, leading the development of improvement tools, key performance indicators, conducting business planning, strategic planning, operational planning, financial analysis, and other forms of management consulting
• Strategic and Operations development:You will work with clients to develop and implement strategic plans, and business processes to improve performance and achieve goals
• Project management:Developing project plans, allocating resources, and tracking progress to ensure successful project delivery will be part of your role.
• Analytical support:You will use data analysis and research to identify business issues, develop insights, and recommend solutions to clients
• Financial management:Managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring the profitability of consulting projects are critical responsibilities.
• Quality control:Ensuring that the quality of deliverables meets or exceeds client expectations and consulting standards is vital for maintaining a positive reputation and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Team management:You will lead and mentor teams of analysts, consultants, and senior consultants. Providing guidance, support, and feedback will help them develop professionally and deliver high-quality work.
• Client management:Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is crucial. You will need to understand their needs and provide strategic advice and solutions to meet their objectives.
• Business development:Identifying new business opportunities, developing proposals, and pitching services to potential clients are key responsibilities. Your goal will be to grow the consulting business through these efforts.
• Thought leadership:Staying informed about industry trends and best practices is important. You will also be expected to share your knowledge and insights with clients and colleagues to drive innovation and excellence in consulting services.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or other related fields
• CMC, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma or other related certifications are considered an asset
• 3-5 years of business consulting experience, ideally focused on transformation, operational improvement, and/or value creation
• Experienced in change management
• Extensive experience in problem solving techniques and methodologies, including knowledge of lean and efficiency improvement and waste reduction methodologies and concepts
• Extensive knowledge of business and operation management
• Experience in business and practice development
• Deep knowledge of advanced project management techniques and methodologies
• Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
• Flexibility to work/travel to client sites may be occasionally required
