Job summary

MNP LLP is seeking a Manager in Consulting – Value Creation & Operational Excellence in Canada. You will lead consulting engagements, advise executives, and drive value creation initiatives while balancing current needs with future goals.

You will work with a diverse team to deliver strategic guidance and actionable plans for client success. As a trusted advisor, you’ll manage projects, collaborate with teams, and travel to client sites as needed, contributing to growth and profitability across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or related fields.
  • 5 years of business consulting experience, ideally in transformation/operational improvement/value creation.
  • Experience in Change Management.
  • Extensive knowledge of lean and efficiency improvement.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within Ontario or Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee consulting projects from proposal, planning, and delivery.
  • Advise senior executives and owners of privately held businesses.
  • Enable value creation strategies to reduce risk, grow revenue and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and understand client needs.
  • Lead and mentor teams of analysts, consultants, and senior consultants.
  • Identify new business opportunities and assist with business development.

Responsibilities

As a Management Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of consulting projects, including:

  • Management of consulting projects: You will lead the proposal, planning, and delivery of consulting engagements, focusing on helping companies grow in value and thrive. You will have an opportunity to advise senior executives and owners of privately held businesses build stronger and more sustainable businesses.
  • Our work involves enabling value creation strategies to reduce risk, enable revenue growth and drive profitability growth and solve complex challenges. You will be exposed to interesting challenges, solving which will matter significantly to your clients
  • Client management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is crucial. You will need to understand their needs and provide strategic advice and solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Team management: You will lead and mentor teams of analysts, consultants, and senior consultants. Providing guidance, support, and feedback will help them develop professionally and deliver high-quality work.
  • Business development: Identifying new business opportunities, pitching services to potential clients are key responsibilities. We value candidates that have an interest in this area, even though you may not have experience in this area.
  • Project management: Developing project plans, allocating resources, and tracking progress to ensure successful project delivery will be part of your role.
  • Strategy development: Working with clients to develop and implement strategic plans, organizational structures, and business processes to improve performance and achieve goals is essential.
  • Analytical support: Using data analysis and research to identify issues, develop insights, and recommend solutions to clients will be a regular part of your work.
  • Thought leadership: Staying informed about industry trends and best practices is important. You will also be expected to share your knowledge and insights with clients and colleagues to drive innovation and excellence in consulting services.
  • Financial management: Managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring the profitability of consulting projects are critical responsibilities.
  • Quality control: Ensuring that the quality of deliverables meets or exceeds client expectations and consulting standards is vital for maintaining a positive reputation and ensuring client satisfaction.
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or other related fields
  • CMC, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma or other related certifications are considered an asset.
  • 5 years of business consulting experience, ideally focused on transformation, operational improvement, and/or value creation.
  • Experienced in Change Management
  • Extensive experience in problem solving techniques and methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of lean and efficiency improvement and waste reduction methodologies and concepts.
  • Extensive knowledge of business and operation management
  • Experience in business and practice development
  • Deep knowledge of advanced project management techniques and methodologies
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to work at client sites 50 to 75% of the time on projects within Ontario. Must have the ability to drive to client sites outside of public transit routes.
  • Flexibility to travel up to a maximum of 20% within Ontario or Canada.

The annual salary range for this position is: $90,000–$140,000.
