SUMMARY
Supporting the MSC Transportation Group, the Manager will lead efforts towards creation and standardization of workflows, work instructions, processes, supporting documentation and templates in support of Operational compliance. The Manager will provide operational recommendations and best practices to ensure a streamlined and consistent approach across the transportation business. This role will be required to work with different Transportation operations teams to prioritize the business process for new account onboarding, for roll out and expansion of new services and ensure that existing standards are optimized and maintained. The Manager will possess excellent communication skills, being able to interact at all levels of the organization, with operational and functional leaders to create and support business objectives. This role will be required to present to internal and external customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for a small team and the creation of operational supporting documentation and training programs
• Coordinating work priorities and ensuring deadlines are met for a project or assignment.
• Understand business operations to align training with business goals
• Responsible for the creation of operational documentation and processes, these include workflows, work instructions, bulletins, SOPs, training documents, etc.
• Generating and maintaining documents to provide operations with a reference, manual or guide to use as they seek to execute the service requirements set out for a particular department or account.
• Updating and maintaining the internal Transportation SharePoint, its document libraries and version control
• Responsible for liaising with various levels of operations and interdepartmental teams to understand the process and train the teams as needed.
• Supporting operations management to implement programs and policies to bring efficiency, reduce costs and improve customer service experience.
• Conduct training across various levels of Operations
• Act as a liaison between different internal departments, service providers, customer, warehouse, fleet/drivers, etc. when carrying out new roll outs and changes.
• Perform assessments to ensure accuracy of documentation, update documentation as needed.
• Own, manage and maintain a documentation repository for the Transportation Group.
• Prepare training plans, local and national roll outs.
• Maintain training rosters and ensure proper sign off and compliance is met.
• Roll out training programs on as needed basis; in preparation for peak period, to improve and maintain quality of service, where new documentation is needed and required to be shared out with the Operations teams, in support of efficiencies and improvement.
• Ensure all documentation is created and maintained in both languages: English & French
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
• University or College related designation
• Supply Chain certification, diploma or degree a strong asset
• Experience working with operational teams, in a transportation operations environment is a strong asset
• Experience with setting up training plans using Articulate and/or other LMS systems
• Solid understanding of business administration and/or Supply Chain in a 3PL environment is preferred
• Bilingual-French/English is a strong asset as this role provides support at a national level
• Experience in training is a must (training small or large groups).
• Experience in creating training programs, training rosters, etc.
• Knowledge of Articulate or other LMS systems
• Knowledge of logistics and planning systems; TMS, WMS, network routing & planning
• Strong computer knowledge, system hardware and software.
• Exceptional analysis and reporting skills required.
• Project Coordination/Project Management experience is a strong asset.
• 3-5 year of managerial experience
