Job summary

CAE Inc. is seeking an accounting standards expert to advise on transactions with cross-functional teams, assess accounting implications, and monitor changes in standards. You will prepare opinions, respond to auditors, and contribute to notes for quarterly and annual statements.

The role requires a university degree in Finance/Accounting, 5+ years of experience, IFRS mastery, and ability to work under pressure. Bilingual in French and English preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS.
  • Excellent ability to interpret accounting standards and apply them to transactions.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a business adviser on transactions involving multidisciplinary teams (tax, M&A, cash and equivalents).
  • Write accounting opinions and be the contact for auditors’ questions.
  • Participate in preparation/revision of notes to quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.

Description

As an accounting standards expert, you will act as a business adviser on a daily basis regarding transactions involving multidisciplinary teams (tax, mergers and acquisitions, cash and cash equivalents, etc.) and give an opinion on the accounting implications that these transactions have on the company. You will also be responsible for keeping track of ongoing changes in accounting standards and advising senior management on the potential impacts of these changes. You will also write accounting opinions and be the contact person for answers to auditors’ questions. You will also be required to participate in the preparation/revision of notes to quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience including experience in a firm.
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS.
  • Excellent ability to interpret accounting standards and apply them to transactions in a practical manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or CA designation required.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with senior management.
  • Ability to work under pressure in the face of tight deadlines.
  • Experience in project management; proven leadership qualities.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
