The mandate of the Department of Environment and Climate Change is to manage land, water, air, wildlife, and forests. This includes promoting, planning, and supporting the wise and sustainable use of natural resources, and protecting, restoring, and stewarding the environment for the social and economic benefit of all Northwest Territories residents.
Are you interested in leading the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of climate change strategies, policies, programs and initiatives? This position oversees the Climate Change Unit within the Department of Environment and Climate Change (ECC) to ensure there is a cohesive territorial approach to climate change adaptation and mitigation throughout the NWT.
