The Government of the Northwest Territories invites applications for an Information and Privacy Analyst in Yellowknife. Reporting to the GNWT Access and Privacy Officer, the role provides advice, services and support on processing information requests and privacy reviews across GNWT departments, boards and agencies.
You will help develop policies and procedures to promote consistent privacy practices, deliver training, and assist in research to strengthen ATIPP compliance across the GNWT.
The mandate of the Department of Justice is to administer justice, including policing, community justice, victims services and corrections in the Northwest Territories. This mandate will be carried out in a manner which respects community and indigenous values and encourages communities to assume increasing responsibilities.
Reporting to the GNWT Access and Privacy Officer, the Information and Privacy Analyst is
responsible for providing advice, services and support relating to the processing of access to information requests and privacy reviews, as well as broader protection of privacy matters, to GNWT departments, boards and agencies.
The Information and Privacy Analyst provides analysis and advice to GNWT departments,
boards and agencies in the administration of the Access to Information and Protection of
Privacy Act (ATIPP Act), regulations and policies in a manner that is consistent with the overall vision and direction of the GNWT.
In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing and responding to access to information requests received by the GNWT Access and Privacy Office on behalf of all GNWT departments and the NWT Housing Corporation. You will also assist in the research, development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the consistent and effective application of access and privacy standards throughout the GNWT.

Typically attained by:
A bachelor's degree in public administration, information management, business or a related discipline with two (2) years of experience in a policy, legislative or program setting.
Equivalency:
A diploma in business administration, information management, records management, or a related field with four (4) years of experience in a policy, legislative or program setting.
Equivalencies may be considered based on a one-year of directly related experience equivalent to one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience. However, combinations of education and experience must often be considered on a case-by-case basis.
