What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a diverse team of Data Architects, Data Engineers, and BI Analysts, providing guidance and development opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative team culture, ensuring effective knowledge sharing.
• Manage team workload and prioritize tasks for timely BI solutions delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, identify key metrics, and deliver insights to improve business performance.
• Evaluate and improve BI processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Gather business requirements and ensure BI solutions meet end-user expectations.
• Manage expectations and communicate risks or roadblocks effectively.
• Oversee BI governance to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Implement best practices for data management, analytics workflows, and reporting standards.
• Balance short-term requests with long-term strategic goals, maintaining agility.
• Encourage innovation and continuous improvement, staying updated with emerging BI technologies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering, with at least 2 years in a management role (or 5+ years with consulting experience).
• Experience managing Data Architects, Data Engineers, and BI Analysts, preferably in a cloud environment like Azure.
• Strong BI development background with hands-on experience with SQL Server, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, etc.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL, data integration, and dashboard/reporting tools.
• Knowledge of modern data architecture and agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Project management experience, including resource coordination and goal alignment.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, PIPEDA) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; Master’s degree and certifications are preferred.
