Manager, Business (Data) Process Analytics

Apex Systems is a global IT services firm and our staffing practice is looking for a Manager, Business (Data) Process Analytics with experience working with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG), SQL, Excel, & a Business Data Analyst mindset. This role is to be placed at our client, a Big Five Bank. You will join a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and high-performing team.

Line of Business: Personal and Business Banking (Investment Process)

Length of Contract: 6 months, with the possibility of extension

Working Location: 2 times a week out of Downtown Toronto

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Description:

The Manager, Business (Data) Process Analytics is responsible for developing, producing, and owning business process metrics and reporting across Personal and Business Banking.

The individual will have end-to-end project accountability, starting with understanding business KPIs. They will leverage their expertise in process design to develop efficient and effective reporting processes. The role includes ad hoc analysis, data flow structuring, automation, and ongoing ownership involving investigations, improvements, and partner relations management.

Key Accountabilities

Analytic Capabilities & Critical Thinking

  • Understand business KPIs and relevant drivers to meet business objectives.
  • Comprehend data elements at various levels and how these attributes intersect.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to generate insights and recommendations.
  • Follow data best practices including QA, design stability, code optimization, and automation.
  • Design and improve reporting processes for performance optimization.
  • Support multiple projects, with a focus on a regulatory project for the investment line of business.

Design and Delivery of Performance Reporting and Dashboards

  • Create and maintain performance measurement reports and visualizations.
  • Develop standardized dashboards for business partners.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine report design.
  • Present complex data in an understandable manner.
  • Create new analyses and tools to deliver actionable insights.

Leadership and Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with analytics teams and subject matter experts.
  • Establish standards for requirements, technical specifications, and documentation.
  • Engage with partners to ensure needs are met, providing transparency.
  • Use consultative skills to share insights and flag areas for further investigation.
  • Deliver results within tight timelines, ensuring quality and compliance.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge

  • BSc/BA in relevant fields such as Commerce, Finance, or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong data and analytical skills.
  • Ability to extract data from multiple sources and generate reports.
  • Analytical thinking and pattern recognition.

Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAS EG coding.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc., is preferred.
  • Creative problem-solving, self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
