Job Title: Manager, Business Controls & Regulatory Reporting (Real Estate Secured Lending - RESL)

As the Manager of Business Controls and Regulatory Reporting, you will ensure compliance with RESL lending policies, protect legal interests, and support operational compliance across departments such as RESL, SMA, Sales & Service, and Mortgage Operations. You will also serve as the backup Business Continuity Planning (BCP) contact.

Responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing RESL governance, compliance policies, reports, and issues, including Privacy, KYC, AML/ATF.
2. Developing and reviewing policies to adapt to regulatory changes.
3. Designing compliance strategies across delivery channels and ensuring adherence to regulations.
4. Supporting external regulatory interactions with agencies like OSFI, FCAC, CBA.
5. Investigating compliance issues raised by regulators.
6. Researching and contributing to legislative position papers for management review.
7. Managing projects from inception to post-implementation for compliance changes.
8. Updating documentation related to compliance processes.
9. Preparing external compliance reports and certifications.
10. Conducting self-assessments and managing compliance trend reports for senior management.
11. Reviewing agreements and disclosures related to RESL products.
12. Improving regulatory reporting procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
13. Ensuring high customer service standards aligned with core values and complaint procedures.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education with relevant experience in financial services compliance and regulation.
• Knowledge of the Canadian residential market and RESL policies.
• Understanding of RESL product functions including pricing, underwriting, and servicing.
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Adaptability to evolving regulatory environments.
• Comfort with hybrid work environments.
