Title: Manager, Business Controls & Regulatory Reporting (Real Estate Secured Lending - RESL)

As the Manager, Business Controls and Regulatory Reporting, you will contribute to the profitability of the RESL portfolio by ensuring compliance with all lending policies, procedures, and legal protections against operational and reputational risks. You will provide compliance-related operational support across departments (e.g., RESL, SMA, Sales & Service, Mortgage Operations) and act as the backup Business Continuity Planning (BCP) contact.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  1. Manage and oversee RESL governance, compliance policies, reports, and issues, including privacy, KYC, AML/ATF.
  2. Contribute to the development and review of policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  3. Design and recommend compliance strategies across delivery channels, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  4. Support the Senior Manager as the department's point of contact for regulatory agencies such as OSFI, FCAC, CBA.
  5. Investigate governance and compliance issues raised by regulators.
  6. Research and contribute to position papers on legislation affecting RESL for review and submission to government bodies.
  7. Manage projects to implement compliance and regulatory changes from inception to post-implementation review.
  8. Update documentation related to processes impacted by compliance or regulatory changes.
  9. Assist in preparing external compliance reports for agencies like OSFI and certifications as required.
  10. Participate in compliance self-assessments and certifications under relevant legislation.
  11. Manage internal compliance reports for senior management.
  12. Contribute to reports for Global Compliance and senior leadership.
  13. Review agreements, new products, and related documents to ensure disclosures and responsibilities are clear.
  14. Continuously review and improve regulatory reporting procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
  15. Deliver high customer service standards aligned with core values and complaint resolution procedures.
Do you have the skills to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
  • Post-secondary education and experience in financial services compliance and regulatory support.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian residential market, industry trends, and regional differences.
  • Understanding of RESL policies across delivery channels and processing units.
  • Knowledge of RESL products, including pricing, underwriting, servicing, and accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate issues and recommend solutions respecting compliance and regulation.
  • Proven ability to provide accurate, comprehensive recommendations.
  • The ability to work independently and build strong team relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills for reports and business cases.
  • Customer-focused approach supporting internal and external clients.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic compliance environment.
  • Comfort with hybrid work arrangements.
