We are seeking a dynamic finance leader to fill the role of Manager, Assistant Controller (Canada). The successful candidate will report into the Director, Global Corporate Controller and oversee and provide Finance leadership for Aurora’s Canadian cannabis operations.

Job Summary

You will manage daily, month end/quarter end/year end closing procedures, support a high-performing team, and ensure all journal entries are IFRS and SOX compliant. You will also facilitate the preparation of monthly financial analysis and reports, liaison with the Corporate Finance leadership team, and review variances.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily, month end/quarter end/year end closing procedures across Accounting / Finance
  • Support a high-performing team of professionals to ensure continuous growth and development
  • Review reconciliations prepared by other team members, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure all journal entries are IFRS and SOX compliant
  • Facilitate the preparation of monthly financial analysis and reports
  • Liaise with the Corporate Finance leadership team to ensure timely, complete and accurate delivery of financial information
  • Review variances, including actual to budgeted results, and forecasts
  • Design, implement and maintain internal controls to support a SOX compliant multi-national organization
  • Actively lead process improvement initiatives and technology enhancements
  • Participate in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes and special projects
  • Coordinate with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience as a finance leader and people manager in a publicly traded company environment
  • Relevant post-secondary education, such as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, with a CPA designation
  • Prior experience working with complex consolidation for a global multi-national organization and using ERP software
