Job summary

BC College of Family Physicians (BCCFP) seeks a Manager, Advocacy + Communications reporting to the Executive Director. The role leads advocacy, communications, stakeholder engagement, and member relations, amplifying member perspectives and strengthening relationships across BC.

This is a hybrid Vancouver position with a 19-month term and a salary range of $100,000–$110,000 annually. The ideal candidate combines communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy experience

Organizational Profile

The BC College of Family Physicians is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Founded in 1954, the BC College of Family Physicians of Canada (BCCFP) is a provincial branch of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). As the heart of family medicine, BCCFP is dedicated to supporting family physicians to provide equitable, culturally safe, and longitudinal care across BC. Members include family physicians, family medicine residents, and medical students pursuing a career in family medicine.

BCCFP plays a unique role in supporting its members, at every career stage, through a diversity of evolving programs and services, including accrediting development opportunities; promoting and demonstrating the value of family medicine through advocacy work and member recognition; and empowering family physicians to provide culturally safe health care and demonstrate anti‑racist approaches to address health equity.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, Advocacy + Communications leads BCCFP’s advocacy, communications, stakeholder engagement, and member relations efforts. Working closely with members, the Board, government representatives, healthcare partners, and the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Manager amplifies member perspectives, strengthens key relationships, and advances the voice of family medicine across British Columbia.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an innovative communications and advocacy professional who is passionate about strengthening primary care and advancing the role of family medicine in BC. This position requires a combination of experience in communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy, coupled with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and build trusted relationships across diverse groups.

19-month term position, starting December 1, 2026. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000 annually, with extended health benefits available after 90 days of employment. This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, with expectation of working in office two days per week.
