Job description

We are looking for an Accouting Manager to join our Accounting and Outsourcing Services (AOS) department. Reporting to a Senior Director or Partner, you will play a strategic role in leading a wide range of mandates for a diverse client base including SMEs, international subsidiaries, and consolidated groups.

This position offers the opportunity to leverage your accounting expertise, leadership, and business acumen in a dynamic environment. You will actively contribute to the quality of client deliverables, process improvements, and team development, while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with clients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of senior and intermediate accountants, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage client engagements including bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, and compilation mandates.
  • Actively participate in planning, reviewing work, and providing technical guidance to the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their operational challenges, and propose process improvements.
  • Contribute to internal process optimization and stay informed on emerging technologies (ERP systems, automation, cloud platforms).
  • Monitor engagement profitability, support billing, participate in RFPs, and identify business development opportunities.
  • Act as a mentor to AOS team members, promoting team cohesion and talent development.

Your Profile

  • Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in public accounting, including team supervision.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Caseware, Taxprep, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements with a structured and client-focused approach.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and business relationship skills.
  • Excellent command of French, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in English is required due to the nature of the role : the selected candidate will be required to communicate regularly, both verbally and in writing, with clients and colleagues located outside Quebec whose working language is English.
  • Knowledge of Sage and Artifex (assets).
  • Experience with consolidations (asset).
