Job details

As an integral member of the Finance team, the Accounting Manager provides hands-on leadership in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and supporting the integration of newly acquired clinics. Based at our Calgary Support Office, this role is key to streamlining processes, enhancing internal controls, and fostering the development of a high-performing accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will play a critical role in supporting Passion Dental Group's (PDG) continued growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with the full-cycle accounting process, including general ledger maintenance, month-end, and year-end close, and internal reporting.
2. Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements with relevant analysis and commentary.
3. Support integration of new clinic acquisitions, including financial onboarding.
4. Assist in preparing working papers and reconciliations for reporting, audits, and tax filings.
5. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers and related schedules.
6. Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead automation initiatives.
7. Collaborate with leadership to deliver financial insights and perform ad hoc reporting.
8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
9. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards (ASPE).
10. Manage treasury functions and software/platform access administration.

Qualifications:

• CPA designation and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
• Experience in a multi-location, high-growth environment is an asset.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting under ASPE.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
