Our client has an immediate need for a Senior Manager, Accounting (public practice) to join their team. With an extensive list of diverse clients, including private sector businesses, professional corporations, consultants, and various service companies, our client offers learning, stability, and longevity in the workplace.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established accounting firm in downtown Calgary. We are looking for an individual with substantial hands-on experience who would like to continue to grow their career in a Public Accounting Firm. As a leader in this firm, you will demonstrate and share your technical expertise and knowledge as a coach and mentor, helping the team and helping the client to elevate their experience.

Being a small firm, this position requires a Hands-on approach to client interaction, from introducing services to an overview of expectations and completing the file through to billing and collection. This position will offer a full array of accounting duties including, but not limited to, the oversight (sometimes rolling up your sleeves) of the preparation of working paper files, including financial statements, corporate income tax, payroll deductions, GST returns and personal tax returns utilizing XERO, QBO / Simply Accounting, Caseware and Taxprep. Mostly you will be an oversight, but as time or busy season happens, you must be prepared to be a Doer.

To qualify for this position, you will have a minimum of 6+ years experience with full cycle accounting within a public accounting firm, have exposure to industry-specific software, have fluid communication skills, be organized and able to demonstrate a solid daily work plan and be comfortable communicating with client queries.
