Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield seeks a Security Officer for Midtown Mall in Canada. The role focuses on protecting people and property by supervising access, patrolling premises, and responding to incidents.

You will document daily activities and coordinate with authorities as needed. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of security experience in commercial or industrial settings, CPR certification, and a strong sense of integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of security experience preferred in commercial/industrial settings.
• CPR certification and knowledge of security laws and licensing requirements are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas to prevent intrusion and protect doors, windows, and gates.
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitor entrances and control access for employees, visitors, and others to prevent theft.
• Prepare daily activity and incident reports detailing irregularities or property damage.
• Notify Security Director during emergencies and coordinate with police and fire departments.
• Maintain order by patrolling and assisting visitors and employees as needed.
• Answer calls and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
• Enforce building policies and, if necessary, detain violators following policy and safety guidelines.
• Operate security and life-safety systems to detect tampering and ensure safe operation.
• Monitor building systems (HVAC, boilers) and adjust controls as required.
• Be a courteous ambassador for the property owner on site.
