Job summary

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is seeking a Development Officer for Major Gifts to manage a portfolio of supporters, secure 15k+ gifts, and help advance annual and campaign goals. The role emphasizes relationship-building, ethical fundraising, and collaboration with Arts and Leadership programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or CFRE, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum five years of successful experience with proven track record in campaigns and portfolio specific areas of fundraising preferred.
• Experience working in arts and culture is an asset.
• Goal and success oriented.
• Strong technical skills ( MS Office Suite, fundraising databases such as Tessitura, and other tools).
• Excellent customer service skills with proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships.
• Demonstrated experience and success in building, leading and executing fundraising plans and strategies to deliver on goals.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with a portfolio of newly identified supporters at qualification stage to grow Banff Centre’s supporter base.
• Secure Major Gift donations/commitments from $15k+ and lead a portfolio to meet major gift targets.
• Foster relationships within Arts and Leadership communities, maintaining professional standards and ethics.
• Contribute to Development’s planning and implementation to reach annual and campaign goals.
• Prepare leadership and volunteers for cultivation and solicitation meetings; collaborate with programming teams to nurture relationships.
• Assist leadership in identifying potential stakeholder partners to support fundraising goals.
• Monitor progress toward milestones and report on portfolio results.
