Job summary

Interior Health is seeking a Maintenance Worker V to join Nicola Valley Health Centre in Merritt, BC. You will perform journeyman-level trades duties in electrical, plumbing and painting and supervise other maintenance staff.

You will repair walls, doors and ceilings, work with drywall, wood paneling and floor coverings, and design, build, and repair furniture for minor renovations and general upkeep in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 education or equivalent.
• Four years' recent related experience or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman-level trades duties in electrical, plumbing, and painting.
• Supervise other Maintenance Workers and designated staff.
• Construct and repair walls, doors and ceilings; handle drywall, wood paneling, and floor coverings.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker V to join our dedicated and supportive team at Nicola Valley Health Centre in Merritt, BC. If you're a skilled tradesperson looking for a rewarding opportunity in a dynamic healthcare setting, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Your Role

As a Maintenance Worker V, you will perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting, ensuring all work complies with applicable codes and regulations. You will also supervise other Maintenance Workers and designated staff, construct and repair various structural elements like walls, doors, and ceilings, and handle projects involving drywall, wood paneling, and floor coverings. Additionally, your expertise will be put to use in designing, constructing, and repairing furniture, and performing plastering, painting, and decorating tasks for both minor renovations and general maintenance.

Position Information

This is a casual position with possible shift times of Monday to Friday days from 08:00 to 16:00.
