Job summary

Interior Health Authority's Elk Valley Hospital in Fernie, BC is seeking a Maintenance Worker V. This permanent, full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, with an on-call rotation and possible evening/night driving.

A Class 5 driver's license is required and benefits are provided. You will perform trades duties up to journeyman level in electrical, plumbing, and painting, supervise other Maintenance Workers and designated staff, and handle construction and repair of walls, doors,

Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Worker V or journeyman-level tradesperson in electrical, plumbing, and painting.
• Ability to supervise other Maintenance Workers and designated staff.
• Experience with constructing/repairing walls, doors, ceilings, drywall, wood paneling, and flooring.
• Experience designing, constructing, and repairing furniture; plastering, painting and decorating for renovations and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform trades duties up to journeyman level in electrical, plumbing, and painting.

Join Our Team as a Maintenance Worker V at Elk Valley Hospital in Fernie, BC!

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker V to join our dedicated and supportive team in Fernie, BC. If you're a skilled tradesperson looking for a rewarding opportunity in a dynamic healthcare setting, this could be the perfect fit for you.

This position is required to provide maintenance services at other Interior Health sites and a Class 5 driver's license is required. This position has an on-call rotation and may be required to drive in the evening and at night.

Your Role

As a Maintenance Worker V, you will perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting, ensuring all work complies with applicable codes and regulations. You will also supervise other Maintenance Workers and designated staff, construct and repair various structural elements like walls, doors, and ceilings, and handle projects involving drywall, wood paneling, and floor coverings. Additionally, your expertise will be put to use in designing, constructing, and repairing furniture, and performing plastering, painting, and decorating tasks for both minor renovations and general maintenance.

Position Information

This is a permanent full time position that works Monday to Friday day shifts from 08:00 to 16:00. This position qualifies for a comprehensive benefits package.
