Description
As a Maintenance Technician– Production Equipment, you’ll be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment to ensure minimal downtime and peak operating performance.
What a day look like as a Maintenance Technician – Production Equipment (Millwright)
- Install, dismantle, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment such as actuators, pumps, compressors, and production lines (industrial machinery)
- Perform precise machine alignments
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective repairs quickly to minimize downtime
- Interpret and work from blueprints, electrical and mechanical schematics, and manufacturers’ manuals
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on production machinery to avoid equipment failures
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation of repairs and inspections
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions
- Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and company safety policies
- Maintain cleanliness of personal workstation and production facility
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Requirements:
- Live in greater Edmonton area or be willing to relocate
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, motors, drives, and conveyors
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment
- Experience on maintaining CNC equipment
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Skilled in machine alignment techniques
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime hours, including weekends, as needed
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, a diplomatic demeanor, and an energetic, self-motivated ambitious
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to maintenance and repair
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license with clean driving record
- Responsible and punctual
- Physically capable of performing strenuous tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
- Commitment to workplace safety, including knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and company safety programs
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Manage deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
