Job summary

Pier 4 in Nova Scotia seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to uphold high workmanship and resident satisfaction across multiple properties.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, renovations, and responsive service, including plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep. Own cordless tools and have 2+ years of residential maintenance experience. Ontario license is an asset. On‑call rotations apply, lifting up to 50 lbs allowed.

Qualifications

• Must own personal cordless hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with building systems including mechanical, electrical, boiler, elevator, and fire safety systems.
• Knowledge of Ontario residential tenancy legislation is an asset.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to participate in on‑call rotations and after‑hour emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to resident service requests and maintenance concerns within 24 hours with clear communication to the Property Manager.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and follow established schedules.
• Repair, renovate, and prepare vacant and occupied units and common areas.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain property cleanliness and curb appeal through exterior maintenance.
• Monitor and assist with operation of building systems (electrical, mechanical, boiler, elevator, fire safety, sprinkler, timers).
• Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours emergencies.
