Position Overview

A manufacturing facility in the Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform critical maintenance and repair on industrial machinery, including molding equipment, robotic systems, and custom assembly tools. This full-time, on-site role is essential for maintaining equipment performance and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery, including hydraulic and electric injection molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system issues.
• Utilize predictive maintenance technologies, such as infrared thermography and ultrasonic measurement, to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical, fluid power, and mechanical schematics to understand complex systems.
• Work with servo drives, control systems, and precision mechanical components to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Work collaboratively with operators and other team members to ensure effective equipment operation.
• Apply maintenance theory, troubleshooting skills, and mathematical knowledge to resolve complex equipment issues.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• MUST have experience with injection molding equipment
• Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair these systems.
• Experience working with injection molding equipment, automation systems, and PLC programming (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
• High school diploma/GED required; technical certifications are a plus.
