Job description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As directed by the Maintenance Manager, responsible for all aspects of maintaining and preventative maintenance of all equipment related to all plant wide processes and any other general maintenance requirements.
• Will be responsible for providing clear departmental direction in areas such as personnel, purchasing, vision and goal accomplishment, preventative practices, relationships with other areas, safety and levels of quality.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have good working knowledge in all aspects of maintaining industrial equipment.
• Be able to work in a team concept environment and have good communication skills.
• Must have a strong background in pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics and be well versed in troubleshooting problems.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must demonstrate ability to manage time, projects and problem-solving sessions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and be available on a 24-hour clock periodically.
• Must have a safety attitude and mindset, and a thorough understanding of quality measurements.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills – Root Cause and Analysis.
• Experience with stores management and computerized maintenance management systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety:

• Follows a safety culture within the department, encourages safety issues and/or enhancements to be brought forward.
• Ensures assigned safety tasks are completed by target date.
• Addresses asset safety concerns in sustained countermeasures in a timely manner.
• Responsible to bring forward initiatives to improve/enhance asset safety.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Abide by company rules, regulations and policies.
• Update all work completed into the site CMMS program.
• Must continue to upgrade skills and knowledge in the area related to the maintenance and repair of the production equipment and machines.
• Carries out daily preventative maintenance program and keeps an accurate log.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting on production machines and equipment problems occur.
• Performs building maintenance where required.
