Job summary

Saand, an Ontario-based manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our Afternoon Shift. You will maintain and repair plant machinery to minimize downtime and support continuous production.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and apply continuous improvement practices while following safety standards and working with a supportive team."

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of heavy machinery mechanic experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in hands-on repair in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Electrical certification or experience is an asset.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.
  • Safety-focused and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, dismantle, reassemble, move, and maintain plant machinery and equipment.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contractors, motor starters, etc.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments; respond to emergency breakdowns during the production process.
  • Set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment.
  • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Maintain/calibrate measuring tools and equipment.
  • Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Adheres to company safety programs, including Lockout / Tagout, zero mechanical state for equipment, fall protection equipment, ladder, lift equipment regulations and confined space requirements per legislated requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for aMaintenance Technicianwho will be responsible for maintenance and repair of machines and equipment at Saand during the Afternoon Shift.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician I is responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will also implement and apply continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes to training, working practices, and processes.

  • Repair, install, dismantle, reassemble, move, and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps, follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contractors, motor starters, etc., as needed.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments; respond to emergency breakdowns during the production process.
  • Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metalworking equipment

  • Ability to run diagnostics on machinery.
