- $25 per hour

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As an ambassador and representative of The Sundial Hotel Whistler, The Maintenance Team is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment in the buildings and suites, the cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds, and the following of the hotel preventative maintenance program.
The Maintenance Team will also ensure daily checks of all hot tubs (including chemical testing and cleaning) are completed to ensure all hot tubs are safe and available for use.
The Maintenance Team will ensure the security and safety of employees, guests, and the hotel physical plant, by enforcing policies and procedures in order to prevent and/or minimize loss.
Your responsibility is more global than your job description – you will be trained in every relevant area of the company operations and can expect to work in all roles in any department as required to provide seamless exceptional service.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures proper inter-departmental communication and cooperation of all employees, suppliers, and partners of Sundial Boutique Hotel in the interest of better guest satisfaction.
- Has a complete knowledge of Carleton Lodge and Sundial Boutique Hotel layout and facilities.
Safety
- Ensures a clean and safe working environment with active participation in Health & Safety.
- Uses correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces using proper protective equipment.
- Uses safe work practices and reports safety issues to supervisor/manager promptly.
- Takes corrective action where required to improve safety and cleanliness of work areas.
- Ensures the safety and well being of all guests and co-workers by maintaining knowledge of crisis and emergency procedures to include a full working knowledge of the hotel fire panel.
Administration:
- Ensure Work Orders and charge-backs are completed daily.
- Reply to all emails in a timely manner
- Reply to all teams request in a timely manner
Maintenance:
- Follows and maintains building preventative maintenance program.
- Review and complete maintenance request forms and ensure all log books are properly maintained.
- Maintain the physical plant of the hotel to ensure the safety of employees and guests.
- Ensure daily walkabouts are completed. Including, but not limited to, hot tub and equipment inspections.
- Performs basic maintenance to door lock systems including installation and programming.
- Performs basic repairs to walls (drywall and vinyl), ceilings, windows, mirrors, tiles, base boards, draperies, and hardware.
- Assist guests with in-room technologies such as telephones, voice mail, televisions and games, and lap top hook-ups.
- Cleans garbage room and exterior of properties when required.
- Removes snow on all common property at Sundial Boutique Hotel and Carleton Lodge and ensures areas are salted when freezing levels occur.
Security
- Conducts parking patrol, tows when required.
- Respond to all types of occurrences.
- Responds to all hotel alarms.
- Regular patrol of Sundial Boutique Hotel and Carleton Lodge internal and external buildings.
- Completion of occurrence reports.
- When/where necessary, liaise between the hotel and government agencies such as police, fire, and safety regulatory bodies.

- Maintain the confidentiality of all guest and owner information.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to problem solve on the spot
- Works well independently
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role an asset but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Work weekends and evenings.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills and excellent attention to detail is required.
