Maintenance Technician

THE ROLE

We are currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician to join our Central Canada Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will maintain store operations. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance primarily on Frozen Beverage Equipment, repairing Convenience Store equipment, and general maintenance work in stores.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Primary daily function) Perform Preventative Maintenance on Frozen Beverage units.
• Maintain equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and performing preventative maintenance.
• Maintain facilities by performing light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, and cleaning work.
• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Ensure preventative repairs are performed cost-effectively by examining records, reports operating practices, and other documentation.
• Participate in training classes for existing and new equipment.
• Ensure maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operation policies, and procedures.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by abiding by safety policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Majority of time will be spent in the field.
• May require some travel including overnight stay.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education :

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience :

• 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance field.
• 1-2 years’ experience in C-store Preventative Maintenance, food service repairs, plumbing, or HVAC / refrigeration preferred.

Knowledge and skills :

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities and ability to work independently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and be insurable as a driver.
• Highly organized and work well under pressure / deadlines with the ability to multi-task.

Physical Demands :

• Ability to crouch, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop, and / or reach.
• Ability to carry, erect, and climb ladders.
• Ability to lift as much as 80 pounds.
