Job summary

Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Centre is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our slope-side team. The role requires strong English skills and hands-on experience with a range of technology and systems, including 2-way radios, electronics, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance.

You will work full-time year-round in a busy resort environment, enjoying benefits and opportunities for professional development while contributing to guest satisfaction and facility upkeep.

Qualifications

Job description

Do you have a knack for fixing things and are looking for a job at a fantastic slope side hotel? Our team is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join us. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and spoken English skills and experience with various technologies, such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and 2-way radio systems. Additionally, the candidate should possess mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and general construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and flooring knowledge. Having previously worked in a full-service hotel or resort setting, knowing pool and hot tub maintenance is highly desirable.

Compensation Information

$19.00 to $21.00 per hour

Physical Requirement

Heavy; work activities involve handling loads up to 35kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills You Bring With You
  • Authorization to work within Canada
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • High level of experience with technology
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in maintenance or a related field preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • WHMIS certification preferred
  • Recent Emergency Response Training and current First Aid (OFA-LV1) Training considered are assets

  • Perform maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of facilities

  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working at heights
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the 4-10-hour shift pattern
