Job summary

Nortera, the North American reference in ready-to-cook vegetables, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to maintain packaging/processing equipment in a dynamic plant in Ontario. The role requires hands-on problem solving, adherence to safety, and collaboration with team leaders to keep lines at capacity.

Qualifications

• Industrial mechanic/millwright apprenticeship or high mechanical experience.
• High mechanical aptitude with a proven track record.
• Experienced in preventative maintenance and hydraulics, welding, and electrical knowledge.
• Takes initiative in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing ideas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair packaging/processing equipment.
• Respond to calls to repair equipment and bring lines back on line safely.
• Familiarize with CMMS, perform inspections and create work orders.
• Conduct PMs to prevent unnecessary breakdowns and downtime.
• Identify root causes of asset downtime and implement improvements.
• Work indoors, outdoors, and in cold areas with safety as priority.

Pay Range: $31.35-$42.00/hour

Your Daily Role

• Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing packaging/processing equipment. This role works closely with the Packaging/Processing Employees, Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure all processes are available to operate at capacity stated
• Answering Packaging/Processing calls to troubleshoot and repair equipment to bring them back on line in a safe, timely manner
• Familiarizing yourself with our CMMS system, Perform and complete inspections and PM in the CMMS system, creating and following up on Work Orders as needed
• Helping prevent unnecessary breakdowns by inspecting and maintaining all plant machinery on a PM schedule
• Identify via troubleshooting root cause of asset(s) downtime/slow down from capacity
• Contributing to a positive employee experience through continuous improvement of the equipment and the business
• Working inside, outside and in cold areas with Safety and Capacity at the very front of all tasks

Your Profile

• Industrial Mechanic/Millwright/Apprentice or High Mechanical Experience
• High mechanical aptitude with a proven track record
• Experienced in preventative maintenance, conveying systems, pumps, hydraulics, troubleshooting, welding, the layout of work, electrical knowledge
• A tactful communicator with a willingness to solve problems using critical thinking skills
• Willing to share and implement ideas for continuous improvement as part of lean manufacturing initiatives
• Ability to work alone and make timely correct decisions as required
• Tig/mig welding and fabrication experience would be a great asset
