Job summary

Hypertec Group in Montreal is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Building Services team. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, inspections, and keeping the facility safe and functional.

You will assist with renovations and support multiple departments to resolve facility-related issues. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year in building or facilities maintenance, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance equipment.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance issues and repair requirements.
  • Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of the building's interior and exterior.
  • Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and other routine building components.
  • Assist with building renovations and remodeling projects, including painting, drywall repairs, flooring, and warehouse improvements.
  • Support production, warehouse, and office operations by responding promptly to facility-related issues.

What You’ll Be Contributing:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance issues and repair requirements before they become major problems.
  • Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of the building's interior and exterior.
  • Perform minor repairs to building systems, equipment, fixtures, plumbing, drywall, painting, flooring, and other general building components.
  • Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and other routine building components.
  • Assist with building renovations and remodeling projects, including painting, drywall repairs, flooring, and warehouse improvements.
  • Perform manual labor including moving pallets, boxes, office furniture, warehouse racking, equipment, and materials for contractors.
  • Assemble and install warehouse racking, office furniture, and other facility-related equipment.
  • Support production, warehouse, and office operations by responding promptly to facility-related issues.
  • Ensure building entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, walkways, and emergency exits remain safe and accessible, including snow removal during winter months.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency maintenance situations.
  • Assist with room setups for meetings, events, and company activities.
  • Ensure proper recycling and waste disposal in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance workshop, storage areas, and utility rooms.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Report unsafe conditions, hazards, equipment failures, or maintenance concerns promptly.
What Sets You Apart:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of general building maintenance, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and minor repairs.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively to changing maintenance needs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to safely work at heights and use ladders or elevated work platforms.
