Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace in Kitchener has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician. This role offers a great start to a career in aerospace, focusing on preventative maintenance and inspections of equipment. Your electrical knowledge will be crucial in ensuring machinery runs smoothly on site.

Essential Responsibilities

• Receive work assignments from foreman or production staff during breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and report findings.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, CNC, and pneumatic equipment.
• Inspect and test electrical components such as transformers and switch gears.
• Assist with electrical system maintenance and upgrades.
• Assemble and align gears, bearings, shafts, etc.
• Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals for projects.
• Operate machine tools for maintenance tasks.
• Perform steel fabrication as needed.
• Maintain and repair lift trucks and other equipment.
• Complete work orders after jobs.
• Perform maintenance at various heights.
• Maintain a clean work area according to 6S standards.
• Follow plant safety rules and participate in root cause analysis.

Position Requirements

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Electrical Certification.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical systems.
• Industrial Millwright (Red Seal) certification and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and preventative maintenance are assets.
