Job summary

Accent Inns Kamloops is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to join our fun-loving team. This full-time role involves a variety of maintenance and light construction tasks, including carpentry, drywall, HVAC PM, painting and minor plumbing, plus addressing guest needs and ensuring facilities run smoothly.

You will work with our IT team to keep systems functioning, support preventive maintenance, and help maintain the property's safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Entry-Level Role - No experience required.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Drivers license is an asset.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • First aid certification (an asset).
  • A general understanding of IT hardware and software.
  • An understanding of major equipment, minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC or the willingness to learn.
  • High level problem solving.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • General knowledge of SWP and safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Entry level maintenance role with learning from an awesome team.
  • Nail it performing a variety of maintenance and construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, HVAC PM, painting, and minor plumbing.
  • Addressing guest needs/requests, like electronic equipment, sink and toilet plumbing, light bulb changes and entry locks access.
  • Work with our IT team, to ensure that all systems are maintained and functioning accordingly.
  • Work with management team to perform a variety of Preventive maintenance tasks, including winterization of buildings, painting of rooms and hallways, power washing of exterior, steam cleaning of carpets, auguring of plumbing, curb repairs, fence repairs and finishing, furniture maintenance and upkeep.
  • Keep us safe by following and implementing WCB standards and championing our SWPs and internal safety program
  • Assist in maintaining gardens, landscaping, and building exteriors
  • Keep us on track by scheduling quarterly, bi-annual, and yearly PM work with partnering contractors as per our service agreements
