Accent Inns in Kamloops, BC is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Full Time). The role focuses on carpentry, drywall, HVAC PM, painting and minor plumbing tasks to keep hotel facilities in top shape.

Qualifications

• Entry level role with no experience required.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Driver's license is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• First aid certification is an asset.
• General understanding of IT hardware and software.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing and electrical basics or willingness to learn.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of SWP and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of maintenance and construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, painting and minor plumbing.
• Address guest needs and requests with care and efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure systems are maintained and functioning.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and seasonal upkeep.
• Follow safety programs and SWP, keeping site safe.
• Assist in gardens, landscaping and exterior maintenance.
• Schedule PM work with contractors as per service agreements.

What You Do

• Entry level maintenance role - perfect for someone handy that wants to further their skills with an awesome team to learn from!
• Nail it performing a variety of maintenance and construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, HVAC PM, painting, and minor plumbing
• Addressing guest needs/requests, like electronic equipment, sink and toilet plumbing, light bulb changes and entry locks access.
• Work with our IT team, to ensure that all systems and maintained and functioning accordingly
• Work with management team to perform a verity of Preventive maintenance tasks, including winterization of buildings, painting of rooms and hallways, power washing of exterior, steam cleaning of carpets, auguring of plumbing, curb repairs, fence repairs and finishing, furniture maintenance and upkeep.
• Keep us safe by following and implementing WCB standards and championing our SWPs and internal safety program
• Assist in maintaining gardens, landscaping, and building exteriors
• Keep us on track by scheduling quarterly, bi-annual, and yearly PM work with partnering contractors as per our service agreements

What You Need

• Entry Level Role - No experience required
• Weekend availability is required
• Drivers license is an asset
• The ability to work both independently and in a team setting
• First aid certification (an asset)
• A general understanding of IT hardware and software
• An understanding of major equipment, minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC or the willingness to learn.
• High level problem solving
