Job summary

Edon Management is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support building operations across the Edmonton area. This full-time role offers diverse work, independent problem solving, and the chance to keep spaces safe and welcoming for tenants and clients.

The role requires experience in general maintenance, HVAC and plumbing, with a solid toolkit, valid ABSA tickets as assets, and a proactive approach. Edon provides growth, on-the-job training, and safety-focused environments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two to three years previous maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Completed Grade 12 education.
  • A clean driver’s abstract and willingness to travel between sites within Edmonton.
  • Valid 5th class power engineering ABSA ticket will be an asset.
  • Ownership of and ability to carry a sufficient set of tools to perform day-to-day maintenance tasks independently.
  • Able to use basic power tools and complete basic building maintenance.
  • Basic command of the English language (written and verbal).
  • Exceptional skills in communications, organizational, interpersonal and time management.
  • Plumbing and HVAC knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in exercising good judgement under pressure.
  • Physically fit, able to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time and lift in excess of 25 kilograms.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance tasks such as interior door repair and installation, interior painting, drywall repairs, and other related duties.
  • Utilizing a wide range of self-provided hand and power tools, with knowledge of basic carpentry skills including painting and drywall repair, is considered an asset.
  • Supporting building operations and functions as required, including contractor escorts, on-site orientation support, and follow‑up with contractors on completed work.
  • Responding immediately to on-demand service requests and emergencies related to client and building operations.
  • Troubleshooting building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm panels.
  • Completing routine inspections and required documentation, including weekly and monthly checks/tasks, logs, full interior and exterior building inspections, and roof top checks.
  • Performing and tracking preventive maintenance (PM) activities and time‑sensitive reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual basis.
  • Identifying and reporting all deficiencies to the Operations Supervisor and Maintenance Scheduler to ensure consistent, worry‑free service delivery.
  • Using Edon systems and tools proficiently, including work orders, expense submissions, time sheets, mileage tracking, and learning plans, while working independently and efficiently.
