Job summary

Pure Flavor Farms LP in Canada is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on building and electrical/mechanical equipment across multiple locations, including a greenhouse and refrigerated warehouse.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a 2‑year technical certification in electrical or mechanical training, at least 1 year of related experience, strong tool skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or trade school preferred.
  • Two-year technical certification in electrical or mechanical training preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of maintenance technician experience in manufacturing or production.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, machinery and conveyors; understanding of manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, PrimusGFS, health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and with others; detail-oriented with strong accountability.
  • Good communication and computer skills; MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel; on-call and varied hours.
  • Work environment across refrigerated and greenhouse locations; noise levels can be loud.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to maintenance calls, troubleshoot, and complete work orders promptly.
  • Record maintenance tasks and work orders.
  • Maintain inventory of materials, supplies, tools, and spare parts; report usage and suggest re-orders.
  • Coordinate with Food Safety for record keeping and procedures.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance and end-of-life replacement plans for assets.
  • Assist in scheduling and contracting for outsourced maintenance; assist in invoicing.
  • Assist in equipment development, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on building and electrical and mechanical equipment; identify damage and resolve safety risks.
  • Respond to maintenance calls, troubleshoot, and complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Record equipment and preventative maintenance tasks and work orders.
  • Maintain inventory of materials, supplies, tools, and spare parts and report usage; suggest re-orders to personnel with authority.
  • Coordinate with members of the Food Safety department to ensure proper record keeping and compliance with Food Safety processes and procedures.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance and end-of-life replacement plans for building and equipment assets are followed.
  • Support scheduling of equipment and service contractors for outsourced equipment maintenance and record keeping of services performed, supporting invoicing verification and processing.
  • Assist in equipment development, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies.
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or trade school preferred.
  • A two-year technical certification in electrical or mechanical training is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a maintenance technician role in a manufacturing or production environment required.
  • Proven operating experience with hand and power tools, machinery and conveyor systems; general understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations and safety requirements.
  • Commitment to adhere to and experience in statutory and legislative standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, PrimusGFS.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal instruction and high accountability, while also able to work with others.
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; strong math skills.
  • Computer skills; basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; on-call and holiday availability, ability, and willingness to travel.
  • This job operates across multiple locations and environments, ranging from a refrigerated warehouse (45–55°F) to a greenhouse operation (80–100°F). The noise level can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift operation.
  • Role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; employee may work in front of a computer, standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Role frequently requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, use hands to handle or feel product or packaging, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The position frequently involves lifting up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits

This position offers an hourly wage range of $19–$30 CAD, with final compensation varying based on experience, skills, internal equity, and location. In addition, Pure Flavor offers a competitive total rewards package, including company-sponsored benefits, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
