Job summary

Pure Flavor Farms LP is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day production operations and staff, ensuring productivity targets, health, quality, and food safety standards are met. Lead a team, provide training, and manage performance in a refrigerated warehouse environment.

You will support the Production Manager to optimize labor and throughput within budget, while maintaining safety and compliance across departments; regular documentation and cross-functional communication are

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in production environment or related supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP principles
  • Understanding of legislative requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principles
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Excellent analytical, time management, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to high professional and ethical standards
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Flexible to shift assignments as required to meet both customer & business needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to line leaders and production staff on performance management and training
  • Ensure delivery of production goals and objectives by establishing clearly defined quality methods
  • Support the Production Manager to stay within budget for labor and throughput; monitor and measure performance
  • Complete required documentation, records and checklists; submit to management
  • Communicate and address variances, quality issues and concerns with relevant departments to identify causes and implement corrective action
  • Monitor the working environment to ensure hygiene and safety policy compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and other company data
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and EOS reports
  • Touch bases with new employees weekly
  • Collaborate with inventory, receiving, shipping and quality departments to ensure efficient operation workflow

The Production Supervisor oversees the day-to-day production operations and staff to ensure timely and efficient workflow. This role is responsible for ensuring productivity targets, health, quality and food safety standards meet company standards. It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to lead a team of workers, oversee employee issues and concerns, provide training, and manage performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to line leaders and production work force with respect to performance management, employee relations, awareness of business context/profitability as well as training/development of staff members
  • Ensure delivery of the production goals and objectives by establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff members to apply
  • Support the Production Manager to ensure the operation remains within budget for labor and throughput; monitor and measure performance to minimize downtime, reduce costs and improve quality and efficiencies
  • Complete required documentation, records and checklist; submit to appropriate management personnel
  • Communicate and address variances, quality issues and concerns with relevant departments to help identify the causes and implement sustainable corrective action
  • Monitor the working environment to ensure compliance of company and statutory hygiene, and safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other company data, including personnel information
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and EOS reports
  • Touch bases with new employees on a weekly basis
  • Collaborate with commodity, inventory, receiving, shipping and quality departments to ensure an efficient operation workflow, production requirements and reworked product consistently match product specifications
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in production environment or related supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP principles

  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; role requires flexibility
  • This job operates within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; bend; twist; use hands to handle or feel product or packaging; and reach with hands and arms; specific vision capabilities required
  • Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting or standing for periods of time
  • The position involves walking and lifting, regularly, up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds

Compensation & Benefits: This position offers a salary range of $50,000-52,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience, skills, and internal equity. In addition, Pure Flavor provides a competitive total rewards package that includes company-paid benefits, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
