Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to meet KPIs.
  • Complete repairs to minimize downtime and optimize parts/labor use.
  • Assist with maintenance of machinery, HVAC systems, boilers and related equipment.
  • Read mechanical drawings, blueprints and charts for installations and repairs.
  • Assist with ongoing assessments of the facility, repairs and improvements.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager and QA to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Follow the Preventative Maintenance program and document maintenance orders.
  • Provide 24/7 coverage for emergencies and mobilize resources as needed.
  • Ensure tools/equipment are prepared and cleaned before startup after breakdowns.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking a maintenance technician for our client in Brampton, ON.

Industry - Manufacturing

Job Duties include:

  • Work with the Maintenance Team to achieve KPIs
  • Completes repairs to minimize downtime, minimize the use of parts/labor, and addresses problems pro-actively
  • Assist with all maintenance operations including, but not limited to, machinery, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and boiler operations
  • Read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and charts
  • Assist with continuous assessments of the manufacturing facility, repairs/improvements, operating machinery, and its supporting systems
  • Work closely with Production Manager, Supervisors, and QA to resolve maintenance problems and issues
  • Follow the Preventative Maintenance program and maintain a log of all maintenance orders
  • 24/7 coverage and emergency reply including equipment repair, stabilization, and the mobilizing of resources as needed
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are taken from line prior to start up, re clean, and /or re-startup from mechanical breakdown
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned

Requirements
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform basic computer skills and comprehend complex plans and specifications.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk up to 100% of the time, work in a freezer, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills in which attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects on time is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to the needs of a 24-hour manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience with plant maintenance, manufacturing environment preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred
  • Maintenance certificate or Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Maintenance, or related field
