Job summary

Ya YA Foods is a Canadian beverage manufacturer seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Belleville, Ontario. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform routine checks and service on conveyors, boilers, compressors, and cooling systems to ensure continuous production.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in maintenance within manufacturing, strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, and the ability to read manuals and electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in the food industry is an asset.
• Able to read manuals, electrical drawings, and P&ID’s.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Electromechanical competency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily routine checks on equipment to detect damages or needs for repairs.
• Service machines including conveyors, palletizers, wrappers, depalletizers, and labelers.
• Operate steam boilers, air compressors, and refrigeration/cooling systems.
• Complete production line assignments with safety standards.
• Maintain and repair PLC, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical machinery.
• Troubleshoot equipment with minimal supervision.
• Support operators when equipment malfunctions and help fix the problem.
• Participate in the development of team members through training and collaboration.
• Comply with all health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reports to:Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily routine checks on equipment to detect damages or needs for repairs on equipment.
• Service machines including but not limited to: conveyors, palletizers, wrappers, depalletizers, and labelers.

Profile

• 5+ years of maintenance experience required, with experience in the food industry or manufacturing environment an asset
• Excellent understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits is an asset
• Electromechanical competency is an asset (sensors, drives, HMI, etc.)
• Trade license is an asset
• Ability to read manuals, electrical drawings, P&ID’s and find parts and blueprints
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Fast learner and commitment to continuous improvement
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Initially the work will be a day shift position, with expectation to work extended hours or weekend overtime as required. Position could eventually become a rotating shift position as demand for our product grows
• NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit
