Kibbi Technologies Inc. in Charlottetown, PEI, is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment within a GMP‑driven facility.

You will execute preventative maintenance, diagnose and resolve equipment issues, and document activities in the CMMS. This hands‑on role requires reading blueprints, adhering to safety protocols, and contributing to continuous improvement. Shifts are 12‑hour, with rotating days and nights every two weeks, and you will mentor junior

Qualifications

  • High school graduation or GED required.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in equipment repair and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment and electromechanical controls preferred.
  • Experience in large-scale GMP food manufacturing is preferred.
  • Willingness to work night shifts, weekends and overtime.
  • Must wear all required PPE.
  • Must read/write/understand English.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with electrical, HVAC and chiller systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and log details in the CMMS (Limble).
  • Read and follow instructions and manuals.
  • Maintain safe, clean, organized work areas.
  • Read blueprints and sketches to fabricate or modify equipment.
  • Repair or replace conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics; weld/cut; use power tools.
  • Maintain HVAC, water softeners and chiller units; support utilities.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks and pursue continuous improvement.

Sr. Maintenance Technician

The Opportunity

Our Maintenance Technicians play a critical role in keeping all components of the production facility and production equipment operating safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for a hands‑on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. This role requires shift work. 12‑hour shifts, rotating days and nights every 2 weeks.

  • Quickly diagnoses and resolves technical issues.
  • Mentors team members and collaborates effectively across departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Maintain all types of equipment through a preventative maintenance program and log all details into a CMMS database. (Limble).
  • Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Read blueprints and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications.
  • Repair or replace chains; belt conveyors; gear boxes/drive chains; hydraulics & pneumatics; welding/cutting; and using power tools.
  • Maintain HVAC systems, water softener systems, chiller units and other utilities.
  • Prioritize safety in approach to all work activities.
  • Focus on Continuous Improvement to streamline work processes.
  • Perform all other maintenance duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Highschool graduation or GED required, 2-year related diploma preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in equipment repair, maintenance and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment, food manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electromechanical or controls experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment, tools and maintenance practices
  • Experience in a large-scale GMP, meat or food manufacturing or processing environment is preferred.
  • Willingness to work set shift schedule including nights, weekends and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective gear.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with electrical, HVAC and chiller systems would be considered an asset.

  • Must have authorization to work in Canada.

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stoop, reach, kneel or crouch.
  • Experience exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Experience exposure to excessive noise and some hazardous materials.
  • Lift 25+ pounds overhead
  • Turn, bend, reach, pull, and walk.
  • Stand for extended periods of time; up to 12 hours.
