TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair, and maintenance service provider for Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base.

We are currently looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician to join our growing team at the Airdrie Depot location.

Reporting to the Team Leader Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting corrective and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and building systems according to the Depot, Test Cell, and Component Repair maintenance plans.

Duties:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment and building systems as per maintenance plans.
  • Troubleshoot and complete minor electrical and mechanical repairs, including reading diagrams.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Create repair schemes for facility equipment such as HVAC, machinery, plumbing, and paint booths.
  • Plan and conduct maintenance tasks as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Update and optimize maintenance schedules for effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with production departments to schedule maintenance activities.
  • Document maintenance tasks using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (FIIX).
  • Train shop floor staff in user maintenance procedures.
  • Identify and manage maintenance-related hazards.
  • Perform Lock-out/Tag-out procedures in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Conduct Hazard Assessments before tasks.
  • Maintain company vehicles in safe, clean, and serviced condition.
  • Assist with engineering projects and new equipment installation.
  • Commission and decommission equipment as needed.
  • Escort contractors and visitors to ensure policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Advisor on safety issues.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and yard upkeep.
  • Promote and support health and safety policies, demonstrating ownership and enthusiasm.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • Millwright Journeyman ticket is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office.

Company Requirements:

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Successful criminal background check.
  • Complete post-offer medical and drug & alcohol screening.
