Job summary

Custom Castings, a member of the Nordstern Group, is seeking a reliable Maintenance Mechanic/Technician for our fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair CNC machines, melting furnaces, and other casting equipment, while performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

The role also involves fabricating parts with MIG/TIG welding, conducting inspections, and supporting machine upgrades.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certificate or equivalent trade certification (asset).
• Proven experience in equipment maintenance and repair in an industrial or manufacturing setting (asset).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail (asset).
• Standard tool set available.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting pumps, valves, and cylinders.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of equipment, including CNC machines, melting furnaces, overhead cranes, hydraulic systems and casting machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Fabricate parts using welding techniques (MIG, TIG); modify or create custom components as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections, adjust machinery and document maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly and efficiently — day or night, weekday or weekend.
• Assist in the design and execution of custom jigs, fixtures, safety guards, and machine upgrades.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience inequipment maintenance and repairin an industrial or manufacturing setting is considered an asset.

• Must be physically able to lift up to 40 lbs of equipment and work in tight or elevated spaces.
