We are recruiting an experienced Senior Operations Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- 100% onsite
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record
Responsibilities:
- Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations
- Plan, coordinate and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives in a safe and efficient manner
- Comply with the collective bargaining agreement
- Be integral to the path to Zero Injuries
- Supervise a group of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance and other operational functions
- Develop and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling and equipment
- Supervise in accordance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures and guidelines
- Oversee experimental mechanics' preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment
- Prioritize tasks and manpower based on urgency and workforce availability
- Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests
- Perform workplace inspections to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Procure parts, materials and rentals as required to complete tasks
- Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets
- Maintain good supplier / customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or any trade designation
- 5-10 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting
- Experience with automated equipment, preferably in automotive assembly or testing
- 5-10 years of experience in a unionized labour environment
- Technical knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles is a benefit
- Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OHSA Regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other computer-based programs
- Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, communication skills
