Job summary

OrganiGram Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee equipment and utility maintenance for on-site production. Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive maintenance programs, manage a small team, and ensure GMP and safety compliance.

You will coordinate with Production and QA to meet corporate objectives, schedule inspections, and maintain records while controlling maintenance budgets and coordinating with OEMs for support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience as Maintenance Supervisor or similar role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and regulations.
• Understanding of budgeting and employee performance management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections of equipment, facilities and utilities and maintain records.
• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work.
• Manage a small maintenance team and assign tasks.
• Ensure GMP compliance and safety policies are followed by team and contractors.
• Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures.
• Plan preventive maintenance for equipment, utilities and facilities and maintain records.
• Coordinate with OEMs to ensure adequate support.
• Ensure spare parts availability for equipment and utilities.

Job description

Location: Lac-Supérieur, QC

Status: Full-time

Manager: General Manager

Reporting to the site General Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will manage and oversee all equipment and utility maintenance activities, ensuring that all equipment and utilities operate efficiently to support on-site production activities and reduce equipment downtime. The incumbent will collaborate with the Production and Quality Assurance teams to ensure that corporate objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct scheduled inspections of equipment, facilities, and utilities to identify issues and required maintenance, and maintain records.
• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work.
• Manage a small maintenance team, assign tasks, and ensure optimal departmental performance.
• Ensure that the team and contractors comply with GMP requirements and safety policies.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and without hazards.
• Prepare and develop maintenance policies and procedures.
• Prepare and implement planned preventive maintenance for all equipment, utilities, and facilities, and maintain all records.
• Manage contractors engaged to perform on-site activities.
• Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance with it.
• Ensure that all production equipment is available for production activities and operates efficiently.
• Participate in project coordination (e.g., renovations).
• Collaborate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure that adequate support is provided for the relevant equipment.
• Ensure that all required spare parts are available for equipment and utilities.
• Perform any other related duties.

Skills and Qualifications:

• A minimum of five years of proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar role.
• An industrial mechanic licence, an apprentice electrician licence, or an engineering technology diploma is an asset.
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and regulations.
• Understanding of budgeting and employee performance management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
