Job summary

Interfor Bathurst NB is seeking an Electrician to join our team and perform daily checks, diagnose issues, repair, install and test electrical components in a sawmill environment.

Red Seal preferred; Block 3/4 apprentices will be considered based on experience. Sawmill exposure and Omron PLC familiarity are assets. We offer competitive hourly wages, benefits and a strong safety culture at Interfor.

Qualifications

• Red Seal preferred; Block 3/4 apprentices considered based on experience.
• Sawmill experience will be an asset.
• Familiarity with Omron PLCs is a plus.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks (continuity, current, voltage and resistance) and diagnostics on equipment.
• Repair, install and test the equipment (Transformers, regulators, motors, generators, electrical control system).
• Design control panels and install circuit power distribution.
• Interpret electrical code requirements and ensure compliance.
• Respond to emergencies during breakdowns.
• PLC programming (API).
• Other related tasks.

What You'll Do

• Interpret the requirements of the electrical code and ensure compliance.

What You Offer

• Preferably Red Seal certified; however, Block 3 and Block 4 apprentices will be considered based on relevant experience
• Sawmill experience will be considered an asset.
